Fun with Hands

Maybe it's just one of those slow Friday's (Yikes, I haven't gotten my donut this morning!) -- someone posted this in IRC at work this morning, it was fairly fun.

Feel Good!

It feels good when you do a good job.

It feels even better when your boss compliments you and says "well done!"

It's even more-better when your boss's boss stops by to thank you for doing such a great analysis and being completely thorough.

It's a good Tuesday.

Full Moon Monday

Tonight is a full moon.  I saw it rise over the east - just gorgeous.  Should be a nice night for it.

Ever get back in touch with someone and you both end up doing that "I wonder what would have happened if...?" kinda talking?  Sometimes it's ego-boosting when that happens.  Which, based on things of late, is a nice thing.

Oh yeah, lunar eclipse tonight.

Football seasons starts

Not that NFL crap.  I mean Texas Football.  Longhorns, Aggies, Tech, and even ou.

I loved the last line of Trey McLean's Newsletter today:
It's 7:40 am, and ou... still does not have a quarterback.

Blog SW upgrade

I've upgraded from MT3.31 to MT4.0rc4.  New layout.  New RSS feed.  New backend (for me, yay!).  Drop me any comments on things you like/don't like.  I'm not married to MoveableType, either, btw.

Forbes (of all mags!) has a write-up on their view of DC15 this year. Article is here

HGN!

So a friend of mine likes to write short stories and post them on his MySpace blog. He's currently writing a bit of a auto-biographical short story, in which he just called me out.

I also have my best guy friend in the world Scott that lives in California. We have known each other for almost 9 years. He is a saint. He keeps me calm and rational. He is a rare sub species of the aforementioned "Nice Guy". He is the nice guy that is also a "Hot Gay Nerd". Now these are extremely rare. They are not only sweet and sensitive but also extremely intelligent, and they're hot. The great thing about HGN's is that they don't realize how hot they are.

He's changed the names of everyone, of course - but wow. I kinda blushed when he said that. Of course he's told me this before, but it was kinda neat to be "published" like that. I'm flattered!

THANK YOU! :)

DC15 - Day 10 (Conclusion)

I'm home. It's over. wow, I'm tired.

5 1/2 hr drive home. Got to see everyone and say goodbye this morning. It was hard to extract from the Vortex(tm) of course, but finally just had to break free and leave.

I was a little bummed - I worked for 3 hrs on a powerpoint for closing ceremonies-- but DT decided to ONLY talk about contests so I never got to show it! Ohwell. I did go ahead and put it up on our website however--same as I did for last year's PPT.

Sunday was really pretty chill. Nothing of note happened. The Ninja party on Sat nite was awesome! Best one in years (Thanks again TW!!!)!! I was up til 4am, when we finally kicked everyone outta the NOC (the after-party) and I went to bed.

My throat and sinuses still bugged me allll weekend :( last night we were hanging in the NOC, following the goon party (which was kinda a bust, IMHO--the venue didn't work right for it), and Nico (our press person) came in to hang out for a bit -- I finally txt'd Heather to say "I'm not being anti-social, it just hurts to talk right now" hahaha. Drive home, tho, I think once I hit Barstow I noticed my sinuses were starting to clear and I could breath fairly normal again. And since being home again I feel a lot better-- I've also been drinking a metric butt-load of water to re-hydrate :) but I'm not coughing like I was in Vegas at least. I'm sure it'll still take me a couple days to re-coup.

Till then - it's back to work early in the morning :) I have to give props to my crew, and to all the Goons really, to busted their ass getting the show done this year. It was awesome! Well done, everyone!!

DC15 - Day 8 (Con Day 2)

The Full Disclosure mailing list just got an email about the Reporter Ousting titled "[Full-disclosure] NBC Dateline reschedules "to catch a blackhat" due to technical difficulties..." - muwhahahaha

Otherwise...other than an "issue" with one of the groups (which I don't need to talk about here) it was a pretty quiet day. I slept in until 9:30 or so... I felt so sick - just did not sleep well the night before because my head was so stuffed I couldn't sleep. Not pretty.

We got to help with Zac's speech on physical security systems - similar to what he gave at LayerOne earlier this year.

Tonight we'll try to hit the Ninja party - then I gotta watch at least some of Hacker Jeopardy. It's a moral imperative :)

DC15 - Day 7 (Con Day 1)

NBC Dateline reported ousted from DefCon 15. YouTube video here.

While opinions vary as to if people agree or disagree with how Dark Tangent handled it. But in the end, it's his call - and good for him for taking a stand.

DC15 - Day 5

| | Comments (0)

Relatively slow day. DCTV is up - waiting on Major tomorrow so he can plug in his Bluetooth stuff. Most of the AP's are up (save the ones that we can't get in to get hung yet). Tomorrow we'll wire up all the hard-lines. DC Staff are starting to get into town.

Tomorrow the NOC lockdown will go into effect. As usual, NOC has been a "hang out" area for too many people - but once we enable the hard-lines, shouldn't be a big deal and staff and hangers-on can stick to their own skyboxes / capri rooms / etc.

Slept well last night - the massage & facial at the Wynn Spa were still workin' on me this morning :) Tonight, it's 20:21hrs, and I'm feeling pretty tired. Might go read for a bit then crash - but we'll see how that actually works out :P
